It’s a great time for our community to come out and play basketball, kick a ball around, play four square, get a game of tag going – pretty much anything that gets one active and moving.
(All youth must be accompanied by an adult and have a signed waiver from parent/legal guardian.)

FITNESS KICKBOXING is a scorching interval workout that incorporates padwork, bodyweight-resistant toning moves, and a dynamic ab series to get your heartrate up and tone muscle. This class is suitable for ALL FITNESS LEVELS ! The next level – INTERMEDIATE – will consist of more fast pace, complex combinations with more in depth technique. $40.00 – 6 classes / $75.00 – 12 classes / $8.00 drop in

YOGA SPRING SESSION
Our Spring session begins Monday, May 1 and runs through Saturday, June 24 and includes the following classes:
Monday, 5:00-6:15 p.m. Yoga for Physical Fitness **
Monday, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Kripalu Yoga for All levels
Thursday, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Gentle/Moderate Kripalu Yoga
Saturday, 8:30-9:45 a.m. Kripalu Yoga for All Levels
The seven-week session includes 6 Mondays, 7 Thursdays and 6 Saturdays. Please note there are no classes on Thursday, May 4, Saturday, May 27, Monday, May 29 and Monday, June 12.
Gentle/Moderate Kripalu Yoga is for those who enjoy building postures from the ground up. Poses will be explored with guidance and modifications. Students use postures, breath-work, and relaxation to quiet the mind, stretch and tone the body, and move the inner self towards stillness.
Kripalu Yoga for All Levels includes gentle warm-ups and leads to asana, in which students move from posture to posture in a flow-like sequence.
Yoga for Physical Fitness ** is designed for experienced yoga students. Stability balls, dumbbells and low-impact cardio exercises are used in conjunction with traditional poses to fatigue the muscles and facilitate deeper stretching and toning.
Fees per person are: 6 classes $50; 9 classes $70; 12+ classes $90. Since registration is based on the number of classes one is interested in attending (rather than a particular day/time), classes can be attended any given day. Missed classes cannot be carried over into the next session. Classes can be attended on a walk-in basis for $10.
DISCOUNTS: If more than one member of the same household registers for a session, a 20% discount off the combined registration payment applies! Also, many students find that participation in a yoga program is reimbursed by their health insurance companies; check out your policy!

SENIOR WELLNESS PROGRAM
Free to Seniors – Location is in the MPR at Chester Town Hall
The Chester Recreation Department in conjunction with KC Pilates & Fitness offers a Senior Exercise Class. This class is taught by Kim Cremin, Exercise Physiologist and owner of KC Pilates & Fitness. The class is a simple and safe, evidence-based physical activity program designed to enhance health outcomes for high-risk and diverse adults age 60+.
Exercises are performed using resistance bands, dumbbells, fitness circles and chairs. The participants in this class have seen significant improvements in balance, strength and flexibility.
The goal of Healthy Moves is to help older adults maximize their independence by building strength, increasing flexibility, and help to reduce the risk of falls.
Where: The Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) at 84 Chester Street
When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Cost: FREE to Chester residents*. Registration and physician’s clearance must be completed before attending.
*This class is financed through private donations and town funding.
