BASKETBALL IS OPEN TO ALL CHESTER GIRLS AND BOYS GRADES K–8. Chester Recreation is dedicated to offering aspiring athletes an opportunity to expand their lives through the game of basketball. Chester Recreation is focused on empowering you at-risk with the ability to make positive decisions both on and off the court by enhancing individual strengths while placing extreme emphasis on the necessity of teamwork.
The Chester Basketball Program is open to all Chester girls and boys K to 8. The basketball program will begin with evaluations / team practices in November with pre-season practices for upper divisions to begin mid-October. Practice schedules for grades 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 will be determined by mid-October.
Part of the success of this program has been due to the parents and community volunteering as coaches, referees, score book keepers and scoreboard operators. Please consider volunteering your time to help the children of Chester as they learn important life skills through sports. If you are interested in coming back as a coach or would like to volunteer this year please contact email@example.com for further information.

New Session to begin soon !
Our fall session begins Monday, September 12 and runs until Saturday, October 29 and includes the following classes:
Monday, 5:00-6:15 p.m. Yoga for Physical Fitness **
Monday, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Kripalu Yoga for All levels
Thursday, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Gentle/Moderate Kripalu Yoga
Saturday, 8:30-9:45 a.m. Kripalu Yoga for All Levels
There are no classes on Thursday, October 27.
Gentle/Moderate Kripalu Yoga is for those who enjoy building postures from the ground up. Poses will be explored with guidance and modifications. Students use postures, breath-work, and relaxation to quiet the mind, stretch and tone the body, and move the inner self towards stillness.
Kripalu Yoga for All Levels includes gentle warm-ups and leads to asana, in which students move from posture to posture in a flow-like sequence.
Yoga for Physical Fitness ** is designed for experienced yoga students. Stability balls, dumbbells and low-impact cardio exercises are used in conjunction with traditional poses to fatigue the muscles and facilitate deeper stretching and toning.
Fees per person are: 6 classes $50; 7 classes $60; 10 classes $80; 14+ classes $90. Since registration is based on the number of classes one is interested in attending (rather than a particular day/time), classes can be attended any given day. Missed classes cannot be carried over into the next session. Classes can be attended on a walk-in basis for $10.
DISCOUNTS: If more than one member of the same household registers for a session, a 20% discount off the combined registration payment applies! Also, many students find that participation in a yoga program is reimbursed by their health insurance companies; check out your policy!
Direct questions to Rhonda Woodward, Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, (firstname.lastname@example.org) or to Corinna Reishus, Coordinator of Chester Recreation (887-5773). Sign up online at chesternh.org (find Recreation Commission page, then follow the Blue Sombrero link.)
