Community Center

Located at 603 Raymond Road on Rt. 102 - heading towards the Town of Raymond. Come and enjoy the Center!
Chester Seniors:
The Seniors have use of the Community Center from 10AM - 4 PM Mon-Thursday.
Mondays include crafting (yoga this past winter) in the AM, cribbage & other card games. Bingo in the afternoon.
Tuesday AM is coffee hour, afternoons open for any activity.
Wednesdays are designated as Movie Day.
Thursdays - Whist and other games or activities.
The Community Center has a reading library, and two computers with high speed cable internet access for the seniors use. Outing ideas and their 2006 schedule can be accessed on line at http://www.chesterseniors.org
Rental:
Rental inquiries and scheduling of time go through the Recreation Department at this time, 887-5773.
Playgym:
The Mom's Club Playground has finally been built and is located in an area just west of the Community Center. There is still much work to be done, but there are a group of volunteers committed to finishing this project for the children of Chester to enjoy this summer
Rules & Regulations:
- Hours: Dawn to Dusk (Basic guidelines . Contact Recreation Commission if significant time is necessary before or after dusk)
- Carry In - Carry Out (No public trash receptacles are provided)
- No smoking or alcoholic beverages.
- No OHRVs. This includes ATVs, snowmobiles and dirt bikes.
- Only authorized vehicles permitted beyond the bridge. Foot traffic only.
- Primitive camping (Tent) allowed in designated areas. (Prior arrangement must be made with the Recreation Commission)
- Camp Fires by permit only.
- All pets must be under the direct control of the owner, and none are allowed on beach when other people are utilizing the beach. Owners are responsible for picking up after their pets. (Pets are allowed in water away from beach area)
- No horses on beach or in water.
- No discharge of firearms.
- No motorized (Fuel) watercraft
Wason Pond Conservation and Recreation Area Advisory Committee
Per authority of the Town, with the warrant article passed at May 2006 Town Meeting, the Wason Pond Conservation & Recreation Area Advisory Committee will become a commission effective July 1, 2007. budgetary authority to oversee the preservation and management of the Wason Pond Conservation & Recreation Area. The commission will have seven voting members to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen, and will consist of 2 (two) Conservation Commission representatives, 2 (two) Recreation Commission representatives, one Board of Selectmen representative, one Finance & Budget representative, one At-Large representative, 2 (two) alternates, and non-voting member(s) as needed (e.g. Rockingham County Conservation District), similar to the current committee make up. At-Large representatives are needed for this commission. Those who are interested are invited to attend meetings, or contact the Chairperson for further information.
