Southern New Hampshire Services (formerly Rockingham Community Action) can provide residents of Chester with information on Fuel Assistance to pay for Winter Heating Bills, Electrical Assistance, and eligible Weatherization Programs. Fuel assistance programs are for fuel purchased after October 1st. You must reapply each year.

Citizens Energy Corporation can grant eligible households 100 gallons of fuel. Eligibility is determined by gross income, age, household size and hardship. You will need to do a phone interview. The program begins in early December.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs. They provide federally funded assistance in managing costs associated with:

  • Home energy bills
  • Energy crises
  • Weatherization and energy-related minor home repairs
