Strategic Land Protection Committee

The Strategic Land Protection Committee was originally formed via Warrant Article #13 at Town Meeting 1997, to wit:

“…to establish a Strategic Development Committee to identify and make strategic recommendations on parcels of land that should be placed under conservation easement or acquired by the Town.  The committee will consist of one Selectman, one Planning Board member, one member of the Public, and two members of the Conservation Commission.”

The Committee, which functioned as an arm of the Conservation Commission for many years, is being reformed with a mission to look beyond conservation and view other lands important to recreation, sports, schools, cemeteries, municipal complexes, and perhaps the arts.
