Reminder for Tuesday, January 23rd

Good afternoon,

This is a reminder that the NH Presidential Primary will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 7:00am to 7:00pm at the Multipurpose Room (MPR) located at 84 Chester Street.  Please bring your valid picture ID with you to the polls per NH RSA 659:13-b.  As of January 16, 2024 the Town of Chester has 3,817 voters on the checklist.

You may register to vote at the polls if you are not currently registered to vote in Chester. Please bring with you one of the following:

  • proof of age: birth certificate, passport, driver's license, government issued ID
  • proof of citizenship: birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers,
  • proof of domicile: driver’s license or State issued ID card, with your current address on it - or  proof of residency  by providing two (2) forms of proof through either bills, paystubs, mortgage statement, lease/rental agreement, etc. that show your name and Chester address, dated within the last 60 days.

You will receive a ballot based on your current party affiliation status. If your registered party is "undeclared" you will have the option to choose your ballot.  This will change your "undeclared status" to the party of the ballot you chose. You will be handed a "change back form" that you can fill out if you would like your party affiliation changed back to Undeclared. A table will be set up by the exit to turn in your "change back  form" and sign on the checklist.
