Announcement of Resignation

The Board of Selectmen announces, with regret, that Chief Gregory Bolduc has resigned his position as Fire Chief of the Town of Chester Fire Department effective May 13th, 2021.

Fire Chief Bolduc joined the Chester Fire Department as a call member in September 2007 and moved up the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Chief in April 2016.  He has hired, trained, and motivated many of our call and full-time members over the past five years to become top performers in their field and his expertise and dedication to serving and protecting the Town will be missed.

The Selectmen will be searching for and interviewing candidates to fill Fire Chief Bolduc’s position.  In the interim, Captain Philip Gladu will serve as Acting Fire Chief until a replacement is appointed.

Captain Gladu moved to Chester in 2008 and immediately joined the Chester Fire Department as a call member.  He was appointed Emergency Management Director in December 2011, and has been employed as a full-time firefighter for the Town since September of 2020.

The Selectmen wish Fire Chief Bolduc success in his future endeavors.
