Absentee Ballot Partial Processing & Ballot Machine Testing

 Attention Chester Residents:

 On Friday, September 4th , 2020 at 12:00 PM the Town Clerk, Deputy Clerk, Assistant Moderator, and a Supervisor of the Checklist will be partially processing the Absentee Ballots received thus far. This process is permissible in the presence of the public on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Monday before the State Primary Election. See RSA 659:49-b Opening Absentee Ballot Outer Envelopes and RSA 659:55-a Partial Processing of Absentee Ballots Prior to an Election at www.sos.nh.gov . The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 8:00-1:00 on Friday, September 4, 2020 for this purpose and to request and receive absentee ballots.

Testing of the ACCUVOTE Electronic Ballot Device will begin tomorrow, Thursday, September 3rd , 2020 at 10:30. See RSA 656:42, VIII, 8(e).

The Town Clerk’s office will also be open on Monday, September 7th , from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to accept any completed absentee ballots filed in person or delivered by a delivery agent. See RSA 652:20; 657:4; 657:17; 657-17-a;  and 657:24.
