Dog Licensing
Per RSA 466:1, all dogs must be licensed in the town in which they reside between January 1st and April 30th each year in order to avoid the added costs of a Civil Forfeiture, service fee, and late fees, per NH RSA 466:13.
Dogs may be licensed in-person at the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office, online, by mail, or through the drop-box.
To license by mail or drop-box, please include the completed application with the vaccination certificate, along with a check made out to the Town of Chester for the correct amount, and a legal-sized self-addressed stamped envelope.

| For Residents 65 or older | $3.00 for the first dog only (Additional dogs are full price.) |
| Group or Kennel (5 dogs or more)* | $25.00 |
| Late Fees | $1.00/mo./dog (beginning June 1st) |
| Service Fee | $7.00/dog (beginning July 1st) |
| Civil Forfeiture | $25.00/dog (beginning July 1st) |

Mr. Peanutbutter is a 3 year old Golden/Labrador Retriever who loves (you guessed it!) peanut butter!!! This pup's best attribute is his goofy smile, which looks great with his sunglasses! He is the BEST big brother and protector to his cat, dog and human siblings! Mr. Peanutbutter's picture will be proudly displayed in the Town Clerk's office, he will receive the 1st dog tag of 2024, be the face of Chester's dog licensing material, and has won a fabulous basket of toys, and goodies!
